The Bhutan International Marathon follows the Mo Chhu through the Punakha Valley, past rice terraces and villages, with full and half marathon distances. We combine the race with time in Paro, Thimphu and Punakha.

Travel tips

Register early through a licensed tour operator, as places are limited
The course lies at roughly 1,200 to 1,400 metres; light altitude preparation helps
Pack running shoes, sunscreen, a hydration pack and layers
Plan a rest day after the race; a hot stone bath helps recovery
